We went shopping. That was about it. But I bought some pretty nice stuff. It didn't feel like Christmas though, no decorations, no Christmas music, and definately no snow. For Christmas down there I got an angel figurine playing the flute and an "L" necklace from Mum, a Sari and 3 Audrey Hepburn movies( Breakfast at Tiffany's, Roman Holiday, and Sabrina) from Will, Krystin, Camile, Solomon, and Scott and a lot of stocking stuffers like JELLY BELLIES. It awsa lot of fun.

Our internet is hooked up now, so I'll be able to blog more often. CALIFORNIA HERE I COME. I want to go to Disney land a lot. Hint, hint, nudge, nudge Krystin.

Daycare

I am absolutely loving the new job. I work with the 2 year olds. They get nap time so that's good. It is so much fun though. There are 12 twelve kids but there are usually only 9 of them there on one day and there's 3 adults in my group so that's fantastic.

Monday, October 22, 2007

Hey everybody. Good news. I GOT THE JOB. I am so excited. I start on Nov.1, I get to have the police check me out to make sure I don't have any bad things said about me.

Wednesday, October 17, 2007

I have a job interview at a daycare on Friday so wish me luck. Not much else is going on. I'm in the midst of making Christmas presents

Sunday, September 30, 2007

You guys have to watch the 2 videos at the bottom. This kid is an absolute genius, she knows geography, counts forwards and backwards, and knows the alphabet; the real kicker is that she's only 2 years old. It is really good, we were all amazed that this kid knows where Ghana, Australia, Greece, India, China, the Phillipines, etc.. are and that she can pronounce them.

Thursday, September 27, 2007

Not much is going in my life. I'm going to go to Europe next year so I'm excited for that. Mum, Kari-Lynn, Aubryn, Israel, Maigan and I are going to Cardston tomorrow for the weekend so that will be fun. I can't wait for that, I'll be buying some Christmas presents there. Other than that, my life is pretty boring, sorry.

More EFY

So, on Monday we played some FHE games and it was a lot of fun. We played Animal sounds, Little Lucy, Do you love your neighbor, and the Human knot. The second round of human knot was a race between our two groups and we both literally finished at exactly the same time, which was pretty good because I had been holding both hands of the same person so that slowed us up a bit. It's really weird, I knew several of the counselors this year before I even went, there was Kristi, Brittany, Cortney(partially), Darin, and Ashley. Our banner looked so cool. Our group name was Great and Dreadful so down the middle we had a lightening bolt and at the top of the bolt was a black cloud, on the left side we wrote Great down the side and had yellow hand prints with halos and on the right side we wrote Dreadful down the side and had black handprints with red horns. The word great was blue and looked bright and the word dreadful was red and looked like there was blood dripping down. It looked so cool before we got downpoured on by the rain. There's this game called "Tree, log, bridge" and it is a lot of fun. It's a race and we lost because we had 21 girls and 7 guys so we had more people than everyone else. They take that into consideration but still. For the service activity we colored games and activities for the hospital in Calgary. At the end of the second dance the girls got an extra song, "Girls just wanna have fun". I got set up twice during the dance. The first time was by Kristi. Then my counselor, Natalie, tried to set me up 2 times but it didn't work, which was fine by me but she succeeded the third time, I think she was rather pleased with herself. It was so much fun. I'm having a hard time deciding whether this year was my second favorite or third favorite. I think they should go in this order: 1st year, 3rd year, 5th year, 4th year and 2nd year, I think that'll be the order.

Alright alright alright alright alright hey

So, I got back from EFY yesterday. I had soo much fun. My counselor's name is Natalie, I love her. You know, this world really is small, one of the counselors I met it Kirby Dietze's niece. I met so many new people there, it was amazing. The spirit was so strong all week, especially Thurs.(spiritual day, Sunday dress). My group, Great and Dreadful(Malachi 4:5), won the Spunity award(Spirit and Unity). The counselor hadn't even got out the word "great" before we were cheering like mad. I'll update some more later, I'm getting pretty tired and I have church tomorrow, too. I totally want to be a counselor next year. I love you all.

More Utah

So, after Israel's party on Friday we left for Utah, at 7:00 pm. We arrived in Utah at 11:30 am on Saturday. The trip down wasn't all that eventful, just watched movies and slept and drove. On Saturday we didn't really do much. Krystin decided to arrive at 2:00 in the morning, just to bug me I'm sure, it was all a scheme to wake me up.
We went to church on Sunday, Aunt Madeleine, mum, Aubryn, Scott, and I went home after Sacrament meeting, and Kari-Lynn, Krystin, Uncle Navere and Israel stayed for the 3 hours.
On Monday, the very first thing we did, after breakfast, was got to Ikea, then we went to American Fork so we could go to Shade which is a modest clothing store. Aubryn asked me why we were there and I told her it was because it was a modest clothes store. Her response was "not all the clothes are modest" so I told her what camis were for and she's like "why were you telling me about camis, I was talking about tank tops." So, that was fun. Then we went to Seagulls in South Jordan, then the distribution center in SLC, then the Seagulls right there. Man, I could spend hours and tons of money in that store, they should really think about building one in Edmonton, with cheap prices of course, otherwise I couldn't afford it. Then we went to the Jordan River Temple so that the kids cold see it.
Tuesday- we went swimming at the Jean something or other(he was a famous wrestler, I think).
Wednesday- we went back to American Fork to meet Rosanna at Target. While Kari-Lynn and all them were at Target, Aunt Madeleine, mum, and I went to Sarah Lees bakery, then scrapbooking co., they got really original with that name, then we went to Wal-Mart. You know, I really hate those contests that are only good if you're an American resident. Seagulls again so I could find a CD, but they were all out there too, so we went to Deseret book to get it. The CD that I bought was one of the ones where you got a free CD with it, so I got 2 CDs for $8.98. Then we went back to Target to meet the others, then we went to the dollar tree.
On Thursday we went to the Joseph Smith movie, it was really good, I really liked it, then we went to the Missionary Emporium and then DI (Deseret Industries), then we went to Smith's. It's a grocery store.
Friday- we went to Seagulls, a toy store, then a Wedding Dress store. While Aunt Madeleine was driving Krystin to the airport, the rest of us went to Target and then Wal-mart and then we drove home. We left at about 8:00 pm.That drive wasn't all that eventful either, again we just watched movies slept, and drove.
Saturday- When we got to the border the guard was asking Kari-Lynn all these questions about Israel and was surprised that the government allowed him out of the country. We stopped at a little park in Bowden so the kids could play a little bit. We arrived at about 12:30 pm.

Utah

So, as you all know, I'm in Utah. A couple days ago Anthony had come over and the whole night he thought that I was Michelle, it was so funny 'cuz he had said "You're the same old Misha" and I was like "I'm not Michelle." We all found it pretty funny. I'll give a better update later.

So, I just wrote my social exam and I think I did fairly well. There were a couple of questions that I didn't know so I just picked one that I thought might work. So, there's not much going on in my life except GRAD IS IN TWO DAYS. Our school colors are green and gold. I am so excited. My dress is done, it is soo gorgeous, I love it. It's pale pink with white chiffon from the waist down and it has a couple of gemstone things on it, the sleeves go to just above my elbow, the chiffon ends around my knees but only in the front. It is a little tight around my huge thighs but It'll be fine 'cuz I'll be walking around a lot. So, that's about all that I can think of . Oh, one more thing SCHOOL IS FINALLY OVER, thankfully.

Happy Birthday

HAPPY FIRST BIRTHDAY MADISYN. Hope you had fun.

Friday, June 1, 2007

Sorry, you can't read the yellow but I wanted to type it in rainbow colors and I could read on the typing page. It says " composed a song for him and the grade 12s played it except for a coule who couldn't come to the practises. I"
So, our band concert was last night and we did pretty good. It's a tradition for the grade 12s to give Mr. W a present and usually it's flowers but we decided to be more creative. Pj composed a song for him and the grade 12s played it except for a couple who couldn't come to the practises. I was so nervous I was shaking, I couldn't stop but he loved it. Kayla(the MC) asked all the grade 10s and 11s to leave the stage and Mr.W got this freaked out look on his face because they were playing the last song too. After it, he said that for once he was speechless and that nobody had ever composed a song for him before, so we were glad he liked it. We played a ton of songs, like Eine Kleine Nachtmusik written by Mozart, the Radetzky march, a several others.

Happy Birthday Dad. Hope it's a great one.

Ok, ignore the second Valemount/Sun Peaks one because it's the same as the first one.

Valemount/Sun Peaks

Thurs.- Ok, so we left at 3:45 pm and at 6:30, we stopped in Hinton for dinner. I went to Tim Horton's. Then we drove some more to the Valemount Cranberry Lodge Hotel. Who names a Hotel after a cranberry? Fri.- Breakfast at 7:30 am. Then for a change of a pace, we drove some more to Sun Peaks, we arrived at 1:30 pm. We all had to watch each other's performances. So at 3:20 we went to watch the mixed ensemble( male and female choir-auditioned), then pasta dinner at the Mantles restaurant. Then we went to the concert choirs performance at 5:50. Then there was a student social/dance at 9:10. Then we hung out in the boy's room until the room checkers came at around 11, girls totally outnumbered the boys, 6 to 4. Me, Lindsay, and Patrice were on the bed, Matt was lying at our feet, Trent was on the bed with us all too and on the other bed was Kayla, James, Julie and Nick and I think Shay was on the chair or on the other bed. Sat.- We didn't set our alarm 'cuz we thought we would get a wake up call- I ended up waking up at around 6:30. Breakfast was at 8:15. 9:00- vocal workshop. 10:30-12:30-concert bands performance and workshop. We played Simple Gifts, Donkey Riding, Radetzky March and Rolling Stones. Then burger buffet at 1:00 Then the band went to watch Roland Michener High School band at 1:30. I hated the elevators, we left in plenty enough time but the elevator was going so slow we were 3 minutes lats and the doors were already closed so we waited until the 12 minute song was over then we went in. Then at 3:00 Stage band performed at the Bentos Day Lodge. Then at 4:00 me, Matt, Julie, Nick, and Shay did the Amazing race, we had to answer a bunch of questions. One of them asked what the time was under the clock tower, we put the day it opened. The answer was A Time To Ride because there were seats under it. Then we had a chicken dinner, then some of us went swimming. Then there was a festival showcase at 9:00. Same thing with the elevators, we were 2 minutes late, the doors were still open. Our choir was the only one asked to perform at it. Sun.- Lindsay set her alarm for 6:30 but all 4 of us slept through it, she woke up at 7:20 or 7:40 and figured something was wrong because it was too bright for 6:00. None of us got breakfast. Then there was a massed choir performance at 8:30. Then a massed band performance at 9:30. There were 47 flutes, 50 clarinets, etc... Then at 11:00 we left Sun Peaks, stopped in Hinton for supper, then got back at 9:20. In all, I took 76 pictures over the weekend. The shops were horrible, they were little and expensive and had nothing good so the only thing I bought was food and water. So, that was my fun weekend. I recorded the massed performace but it can't show the image but I'm not deleting it because I still want it and to make sure it doesn't work.

Kiwanis Festival

We did pretty good. We got a distinction for both classes, distinction is equal to a silver. Our adjudicator was so funny, I swear he's a Symphony Orchestra Director, he was doing the whole arm all over the place thing and his laugh was hilarious. It was literally "Hee Hee" and that's what it sounded like. 3 more days to Kamloops.

Cross stitch and band story

I'm starting a cross stitch project. It's of a cat hanging onto a rope in mid-air and underneath the cat it says " Hang in there." Yesterday in band this guy was annoying this girl and she asked " Mr. W., can I whack him." and Mr.W. said " I don't condone violence, I find that hurtful words go much deeper and last a lot longer." It was soo funny because it was just a joke and he was smiling too which made it even better.

school

Yesterday, I had an essay due for social. The topic that I wrote on "Should nations have multi-party systems?" I said no, not because that's what I believe but because I had 3 arguments for it. My class schedule is pretty boring, I have the same thing every day, no variations whatsoever. 1st block- Spare, 2nd- English, Lunch, 3rd- Band, and 4th- Social. Band is, by far, my fav. subject, why I don't know because Mr. Weisenburger burns me all the time, it's actually quite funny. With him, you never quite know if he likes or doesn't like you. Oh, and before I forget, I have a solo in "In Yonder Valley" in "Simple Gifts." And it's not a flute solo either. It's only like 6 bars, but I'll take what I can get, so I'm not complaining. It's the first solo that I've had,so I'm excited.
